Management & Treatment of Tennis Elbow - Proximal strategies and care.

Management & Treatment of Tennis Elbow - Proximal strategies and care.
Course Description : Lateral Epicondylalgia is a common complaint for any PT or OT. This course seeks to examine current evidence for examination and treatment o f the condition while exploring the role of proximal stability in the condition. A clinician taking this course will learn strategies of treatment focused on proximal stability.
Course Objectives :
The clinician will differentiate lateral epicondylalgia from cervical radiculopathy and peripheral nerve entrapments by analyzing clusters of provocative test results and neurodynamic findings.
The clinician will justify the selection of specific proximal stabilization techniques by appraising the kinetic chain relationship between scapular mechanics and distal elbow loading.
The clinician will critique a standard exercise protocol and modify the loading parameters (isometric vs. isotonic) based on an assessment of the patient’s tissue irritability and stage of tendinopathy.
The clinician will formulate a comprehensive, evidence-based management plan that integrates clearing exams, proximal strengthening, and progressive loading tailored to the patient’s specific occupational or athletic demands.
