Cupping in Cabo with Chris DaPrato (we are running it back this spring)

This is a blog about our course with Chris DaPrato of Myofascial Decopression in Cabo San Lucas last year. I hope looking at these inspires you to consider how great a Physical Therapy Con Ed experience can be.

This March we are running this class back. One of the reasons we love going to Cabo so much is the proximity to Los Angeles and the ease of travel between these cities. Since we have now done 4 Physical Therapy courses in this part of Mexico, we have built some great relationships with people over there. click on the link below and see what it is all about!

getting pumped for the gym workouts with myofascial decompression.

It’s was nice to observe how Chris Daprato uses Myofascial Decompression in his practice. Having a small class gives each student an opportunity to learn this way.

Details and nuance with the lat pull down while using cups.

Getting ripped in Cabo

You can see how using cups during an exercise changes mechanics, even when they are in a different part of the body.

Cupping can also be used as a biofeedback device. A very valuable tool when teaching movement.

Observing how the cups reduce muscle tension in the upper traps during rows.

A nice moment on a break. What an amazing group of clinicians.

Putting the techniques into practice.

Off to the beach!

Until next time!

Reflecting on this trip, I would say it was rejuvenating and gave some great tools to take back to the clinic. We each got our own cupping set included in the class. I also think back fondly of the conversations had poolside and over meals. I made new friends and was able to catch up with old ones. It was also great to have 3 co workers take this class with me. This was a great way to work together on integrating Myofascial Decompression into our practice in the following weeks. These courses are great ways to build up your team of PTs and get a little vacation out of it.
